The PMNN4489C is a TIA4950/UL-certified Intrinsically Safe (HazLoc) battery. Intrinsic Safety certification is maintained only when the battery is used with an approved Intrinsically Safe Motorola radio, approved accessories, and compatible charging equipment. Installing this battery on a non-certified radio does not make the radio intrinsically safe. Motorola now supplies the PMNN4489D as the direct replacement for the PMNN4489C.
