Its over-the-ear D-shell rests comfortably around the ear without entering the ear canal, making it well suited for extended use in security, hospitality, event, and professional work environments.

A flexible boom microphone positions close to the wearer’s mouth for dependable voice pickup, while the integrated in-line push-to-talk button provides convenient radio activation without requiring the user to handle the radio.

The single-ear design leaves the opposite ear uncovered, allowing users to remain aware of nearby coworkers and surrounding activity. The PMLN5096B carries an FM intrinsic-safety designation and supports UL TIA-4950 configurations with select newer Motorola radios.
