Submersible Windporting Remote Speaker Microphone – IP57 and UL Approved

The Motorola PMMN4040AL is a rugged remote speaker microphone designed for dependable communication in wet, windy and demanding work environments. Its compact housing and large push-to-talk button allow users to communicate without removing their Motorola MOTOTRBO radio from a belt or carrying case.

Motorola Windporting technology significantly reduces background noise caused by wind and severe weather. The same design helps prevent water from obstructing the microphone port and distorting transmitted audio, allowing users to communicate more clearly during outdoor operations.

The PMMN4040AL features a durable coiled cable, rotating clothing clip and quick-disconnect radio connector for convenient everyday use. It is a streamlined speaker microphone without IMPRES audio, volume controls, an emergency button, programmable buttons or an external earpiece jack.

With an IP57 rating, the microphone is protected against dust and can withstand temporary immersion in up to one meter of water for approximately 30 minutes. The PMMN4040 family has been offered under legacy FM and later TIA-4950/UL intrinsic-safety approvals, so the microphone label and complete radio, battery and accessory configuration must be verified for hazardous-location use.
